PRODUCE DONATION ALLOWS VALLEY TO PARTAKE OF BOUNTY THROUGH JUNE

On Saturday, May 16th, volunteers distributed 4,100 bags of potatoes and onions to the community. The response was one of gratitude. Eric Sauer, of Chelan Fresh, witnessed the carefully orchestrated give away. The export sales manager contacted Monique Lott, Communications Director for the Wenatchee Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with an amazing opportunity.

Chelan Fresh will donate boxes of apples, potatoes and onions to the North Central Washington area, multiple weekends through June. The produce will be distributed at five locations of the Church of Jesus Christ:

  • 1621 Maiden Lane, Wenatchee
  • 667 10th St NE, East Wenatchee
  • 10170 Titus Road, Leavenworth
  • 195 W. Manson Hwy, Chelan
  • 417 4th Street, Brewster

Volunteers will be on site to load pre-packed boxes containing three 3 lb. bags of apples, 8 lbs. of potatoes, and 3 lbs. of onions, as consumers drive through the church parking lot. Proper social distancing guidelines will be followed with volunteers wearing masks and gloves.

We are grateful to collaborate with Chelan Fresh, and share the bounty they are donating to the region.
