I love the legend of how we got the poinsettia in the first place. The flower originally came from Mexico, where it was called "Flor de Noche Buena", or "Flower of the Holy Night". According to the legend, the flower first appeared in a little village long ago, in Mexico, where everyone was getting ready for Christmas.

Suddenly it didn’t matter if that baby was going to sleep in a laundry basket, a crib, or a box. She was here in all her purity and innocence and our family was richer for her birth. She came home from the hospital Christmas Eve and no Christmas gift has equaled her since.
